The Holidays Are Grand
There’s just something special about the Holidays. Maybe it’s the brisk, California rain. Maybe it’s the somewhat jolly and festive attitude that people seem to have. Maybe it’s the really full parking lots. Maybe it’s the excitement of Christmas day.
Then, I think back to 2000 years ago, when God sent Jesus into the world as a baby, depicting His seemingly controversial, amazing love for every one of us. Why didn’t God just show up with thunder, clouds, and lots of lightning bolts? Isn’t that what we would expect?
Yet, we see all of God’s power and love personified in a little baby, born in the equivalent of a pig pen. Seems like God was all about humility from the get-go.
This birth, this gift, this restoration of humanity—this is what makes December so special for me. Merry Christmas!
